Tawfiq Zada is the Senior Organizational Development Specialist for the USAID/Jordan Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Activity (MELA).
Tawfiq is responsible for building the organizational capacity of Local MEL Organizations (LMOs) by overseeing the validation process related to the Organizational Capacity Assessments (OCAs) undertaken by them, developing LMOs’ Capacity Building Plans, and designing and facilitating training, workshops, and events to build LMOs’ capacity in managing MELA’s activities related to the MEL areas. Tawfiq is also responsible for building the capacity of Government of Jordan (GoJ) organizations in MEL to become more results-oriented and data-driven entities. This is done through designing and facilitating training and workshops that adopt a “learning by doing” approach to help those organizations develop their Results Frameworks, Performance Indicators, and MEL Plans, considering USAID monitoring and reporting requirements. Tawfiq also supports the Lead CLA Specialist during the activity’s implementation.
Before joining MELA, Tawfiq built his extensive experience working with USAID projects in Jordan, with specific knowledge of project life cycles, agency policies, regulations, and reporting requirements. As the Senior Technical Advisor for Organizational Development, Tawfiq led capacity development activities at Jordan’s Ministry of Health for USAID’s Human Resources for Health in the 2030 project. Additionally, he worked with universities and other entities to improve workforce development as the Senior Workforce Development Advisor for USAID’s Jordan Competitiveness Program.
Tawfiq is an Industrial Engineer with an MA in Enterprise Management. He also holds several professional certificates, including a Certificate in Personnel Practice (CPP) and a Certificate as Lead Assessor for King Abdullah II Awards for Excellence.
