Implementing Effective Public Financial Management Tools

Flag of North American and Caribbean countries in a semi-circle and blowing in the wind

Kaizen conducted a feasibility study to help USAID implement effective public financial management tools.

Kaizen, as a subcontractor to Deloitte Consulting LLP, undertook a community of practice feasibility study—including technical analysis, assessments, and knowledge management tasks under the Regional Public Financial Management Community of Practice Feasibility Study. Kaizen assessed the viability of various channels of communication to help USAID Missions identify, understand, and implement effective public financial management tools and approaches.

Highlights

  • Assessed viability of various communication channels
  • Inventoried existing knowledge-sharing platforms
  • Surveyed USAID staff to determine needs

Kaizen inventoried existing communities of practice, knowledge-sharing platforms, public financial management support resources, and other communications channels. The team also completed a survey of targeted USAID Latin American and Caribbean Mission staff and analyzed results. Based on its findings, Kaizen presented key themes to USAID and provided a range of options for future steps to create a community of practice for Missions in Latin America.
